DNS Explained [Video]

This is a GREAT visual explanation about how DNS works. Most users don’t realize that when you type a name like http://www.google.com you are actually asking the internet to find the IP Address of that website (192.168.1.x). DNS is what translates those names into addresses for the computer to find its target. After all, you have to remember that computers still think in binary and all the stuff you see on a day to day basis is actually translations of translations on top of translations of 1’s and 0’s.

It is only 6m long so its an easy watch to gain some understanding as to why simple things like changing email addresses or website hosts, it takes TIME for the internet to catch up.
